Raf Rescue – Motorsport Event Medical & Rescue Support

Motorsport is exciting, but it also carries risks. Whether it’s a forest rally, road rally, racetrack, sprint, or hill climb event, unexpected incidents can happen at any time. To keep competitors and spectators safe, Motorsport UK (MSUK) sets out strict requirements for medical and rescue support, including the number of MSUK Rescue Units that must be on-site.

Most competition vehicles are equipped with advanced safety measures such as roll cages, full harnesses, fire suppression systems, and drivers’ personal protective equipment. However, when an incident occurs, immediate and professional response is vital.

Raf Rescue provides fully licensed MSUK Rescue Units, staffed by:

    • Rally events: Minimum of 2 licensed crew members

    • Speed events: Minimum of 3 licensed crew members

    • All events: A Doctor or Paramedic on board, as required by MSUK

Our Rescue Units form a core part of the event’s Safety Team, working closely with Recovery Units throughout the event. While Recovery Units are tasked with retrieving broken down or immobilised vehicles—sometimes from difficult or remote locations—our Rescue Teams provide both medical support and specialist rescue assistance when needed.

At Raf Rescue, our mission is simple: to deliver fast, reliable, and professional emergency medical and rescue services whenever and wherever they’re needed.

Motorsport UK licensed Rescue personnel offer prompt medical assistance and extrication services at the site of an incident. They navigate venues using Motorsport UK licensed Rescue Units, equipped with state-of-the-art medical and extrication tools.
